Srinagar, May 18 (KNO): The government employees, labourers and businessmen from Jammu and Kashmir who are stuck in Ladakh Union Territory on Monday said that the administration is pushing them to the wall by not evacuating them to their homes. Sajad Ahmad, a government employee while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that nearly 150 government employees working in different departments are stuck in Ladakh Union Territory, but have not been evacuated so far. Besides, he said nearly 500 people from Jammu and Kashmir including labourers and businessmen are stuck in the Union Territory and are moving from pillar to post to press for their evacuation. He added they approached the concerned Deputy Commissioner in Leh many a times so far, but all in vein as no measure was taken to evacuate, adding some of the persons who had influence have managed to reach home by getting special movement pass from the administration in Leh. Ahmad further stated that it is unbelievable that the government has managed to bring back the stuck people from different countries and at the same time are not paying any heed to the people stuck in Ladakh. He further appealed the government to look into the matter and evacuate them at an earliest so that they can celebrate the Eid with their dear ones at home. “We would also appreciate in case the government allow us to reach home in our own vehicles,” he added –(KNO)
